Oscar was a Godsend when it came to buying our first house. In the past we found the home buying process to be highly stressful and overwhelming. We had been so discouraged we had discontinued our search. This time around though, we had Oscar, and with his guidance things just felt much easier. When we first started working with him he laid out the whole process for us in a very easy to understand way — creating confidence in knowing what we were getting ourselves into. Every step of the way he helped guide us in whatever direction we wanted to move towards. The best thing about Oscar was that he was good at showing us our options and explaining strategies we could use during the process - all while never pressuring us. It always felt in our control of when and where we wanted to meet up, how we wanted to proceed with our offers, and who we wanted to work with in regards to our lender, inspectors, and/or contractors. He was a great resource for when we didn’t know what to do or if we didn’t understand something. His knowledge and experience gave us ideas on how things typically go, but also showed us that things can happen in other ways too. The personalized experience he gave us made it so that we always felt comfortable to reach out and ask questions - which is saying a lot, because we can both be pretty shy. We really can’t thank him enough for making our first home dreams become a reality. It’s rare to find an agent who can provide such thorough guidance while making you feel completely in control of the process. We truly can’t imagine having a better experience and highly recommend his services. 5-stars for Oscar!

I recently decided to upgrade from my apartment into a single family home and was looking for a realtor. I needed someone who would be up on top of listings and working pretty intently and aggressively for I was on a time crunch due to the expiration of my current lease. Oscar showed an assertiveness and professionalism within everything I was asking for in a realtor, especially during such a difficult and competitive time for winning a home. The thing I valued most about working with Oscar was how on top of everything he was for me and it really made it an easy process. I would get daily listings that fit the parameters I had given him and he was always first to set up showings and made sure we scripted our offers in the most competitive fashion and ensured that they got serious consideration against multiple buyers. He was relentless for me and eventually got me the house I had so hoped to land and couldn't be more appreciative of all the hard work he put in. I recommend him to anyone looking for a realtor and will be only using him in the future for all my realtor needs.

Beyond amazing! Oscar made himself available for every property we wanted to see. He always picked up the phone and replied lightning fast to text messages. I started this journey thinking I did not need an agent, but glad I did not go down that path, and was lucky enough to have found The Montalvo Team. A key aspect that made me really appreciate Oscar was that he always looked out for us. He had a keen eye for details which at times we would not noticed. There were times that because of Oscar's findings we had to skip on a house even though we might have really liked it. This trait alone showed me that he cared more about his client being happy with the purchase than just thinking about a check going in his pockets. Positive: Attentive, Knowledgeable, Honest 1st time home buyer here, met Oscar through word of mouth recommendation. Oscar ticked all the boxes we were looking for in a RE agent. He is experienced, not pushy, and was available whenever we had a question about the buying/escrow process. Story: My fiancee and I were looking for homes, by ourselves, and decided on looking at a few new builds. We asked Oscar to come with us to look at those houses. Glad he did! He was asking the sellers all the right questions, questions we would've not think of asking. We found a beautiful house and discussed whether it would be the one for us. Oscar talked to us about the reasons we shouldn't buy and the reasons we should buy that house, without pressure. That conversation confirmed that it was the right house for us. During the buying process Oscar was guiding us on the next steps that were going to happen. He gave us heads up on having certain documents to have ready before our lender even asked for them. He even sat down with us and explained the purchase contract to us. Even after close of escrow, Oscar checked in on us to make sure we were doing good with the closing and that the move-in was going smoothly. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and comfortable with our purchase. Oscar was with us every step of the process and we are very grateful for that. Advice for 1st timers: Don't do it alone! Get yourself a RE agent. Sellers take you more seriously. Your agent will guide you so you won't get ripped off or taken advantage of. This was our first time buying a home--in the midst of a global pandemic and a super competitive marketplace, nonetheless. Oscar was instrumental in guiding us through the process. He not only explained everything in a way that was easy to understand (from working with the mortgage lender to making the offer), but he was also always available to answer our questions. After months of looking and getting outbid, we finally had an offer accepted in our ideal city of Calabasas. Oscar got me and my husband a house with everything in our checklist during the covid crisis. He was able to make things happen fast and get things done right before restrictions that would have resulted in us losing out on getting this dream home. We were paired with Oscar randomly through one of the online home sites to show us a house about a month and a half before listing our condo. We immediately felt good about having him show us other homes and after seeing four or five homes I ask him if he wanted to see our condo to list it. Great decision! Oscar was always on top of all the details, returning phone calls or emails super quick if not just answering the phone in the first place. He walked us through every step of the way. His advice on staging, photos and setting a price paid off too. We had three offers after just three weekdays on the market. By that Friday we had sent out counter offers and by the following Monday we had accepted an offer. Oscar also went above and beyond the day before the appraisal. He called me that evening to check in and see if I was ready. When I told him I was having difficulty finishing bringing something up to code his reaction was "I'll be right over". First off, I want to say that this process is difficult and would have been even more so if I didn't have Oscars guidance. I really would like to express my gratitude and thanks to him for literally hand-holding me through this process. He is a one-stop shop, he has been doing this for years-he truly loves what he does and you can tell. I had initial phone calls with quite a few agents to see how I felt about getting the process started, he was not pushy or annoyed with my MANY questions as some other were. He gladly shared his information guide with me (which is super helpful btw) and although most other agents wouldn't even continue a conversation unless I had pre-qualified for a loan-he did! I'm sure he would tell you that my situation was very unique to say the least but through it all he was prompt, cool, and collected. He always had more information than I asked and was willing to find out the info if he didn't. I will absolutely go through Oscar for anything home related and will be using him again in the future. I was sooooo lucky to to work with both Oscar and Alex Montalvo buying the ranch house of my dreams. After meeting Oscar at an open house I knew I wanted to work with him - his manner was so warm, polite and non-pushy. He was really helpful but never aggressive in trying to push us in any direction. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and just has a great manner about him. Alex also helped a lot during the process and he was also very likable and non-pushy in his demeanor. Team Montalvo are just super nice guys, who are not trying to impress like a lot of realtors ...they are genuinely good guys. I miss talking to them daily!
